1900

1900. Early years.

In 1900 Heinrich Kissling and Heiner Schumacher founded the company Schumacher & Kissling in Remscheid, the center of the German tool industry. Heinrich Kissling (* 11 December 1866) had previously worked in a forging mill and had the technical background. Heiner Schumacher financed the start-up projects and received a share of 25%.

In Remscheid Morsbachtal they consolidated two former hammer mills with new buildings and started to produce pliers, hammers, socket wrenches and bicycle tools on two water-powered forging hammers.
Growing industrialization brought a vital impulse to tool producing companies in Remscheid. Thus, the work force at Schumacher & Kissling reached 49 people already in 1906.

The first catalogue was issued in 1907 and showed "Wrenches for bicycles, engines and automobiles".
